Obviously I cannot be objective about this book because I lived it, right along with Peter, Luke and Jill. Yes, I'm baby Ellen, whose orange hair was nothing but a mass of ringlets! I will share with you that I laughed and I cried, reliving that time in our lives. I also can say that Peter nailed it! His way of writing about it was captivating, and for me mostly hysterical! I hope you will get a copy, because I know you will thoroughly enjoy it. Bravo Peter, bravo! I'm so proud of you and am honored to be your sister.Product details

Great memories. A step back in time.
I loved this book. I laughed out loud so many times that I may read it again. I'm not sure I can pick which story I liked best. Please give us more!
The toadsuck tales is a light hearted tale of what it is like living in a small town in the 50&60. Having fun and how you lived. It is very entertaining and how things were during this time. You will laugh out loud. It is a good book of tales.
Bought in both the and the paperback version because it is such a treat I just had to share it. The ending--I don't want to give it away but I will never think of Howdy Doody in quite the same way again.
Charming book about a time and place when life was easier and being young was as it should be - pure innocence and adventure. Hysterical and honest, Gordy's conversational tone makes you feel like you were there seeing the country and all its grown-up struggles through the eyes of a child. The short, well-written chapters break the book into easy-to-digest stories. I would easily recommend this book to anyone.
